HOM SS14 Featuring HOM by Jonathan Saunders Continued...

As I mentioned in my previous post I shot the HOM SS14 show at London Collections: Men from the official photographers pit.

I could hear hearts flutter as the nearly naked men swept the runway sporting and array of sleek underwear and stylish swimwear. Although a brief show (see what I did there), it was a brilliant! I thoroughly enjoy the fast past pace of the runway, whilst obviously this show had its perks.

Here are some of the images I captured that night, enjoy!

HOM SS14 Featuring HOM by Jonathan Saunders

I have been so busy recently! From interning to a mini get away and interning again, I have not had a moment free; if I have had a spare day I've been working, catching up on sleep, eating properly,  washing and cleaning etc (the usual boring stuff).

I have been interning with photographer Timur Celikdag and have had the most amazing experience. As well as being the nicest/coolest man, he actually wanted me to learn and I am so grateful for what he taught me. I got the chance to assist on a Mr Porter shoot and two McQ lookbooks whilst with him.

In-between all this excitement I managed to go away for a week with a small group of friends to Newquay, and we somehow magically went during the one week of summer England actually got. Not a drop of rain with barely a cloud in the sky, I actually achieved a tan!

But, what I really wanted to share was what I got up to last night. I came by the chance to shoot HOM SS14 Featuring HOM by Jonathan Saunders at LC:M. I am going to be honestly truthful, a lot of my pictures came out blurry. I set the aperture too wide and didn't realised I had accidentally done this until after the show was over. It all went so fast that I just didn't realise, or have the time to check once the show had started. Luckily not all the shots I gained were blurry and I've still got loads I can use; so, all was not lost! You learn from your mistakes right? And, I am definitely still learning and I will not do that again! Here are just a few for now, when I get home to Portsmouth I will go through them again and post more.

Mary Katrantzou...

Following on from the previous post 'Mary Katrantzou S/S12 & A/W12' here are a selection of my favourite designs and images I got the opportunity of capturing on the runway from Mark K's previous two collections:

There were so many amazing images and designs that I found it extremely hard to narrow it down to these select few. Maybe in another post I'll upload some more but for now here are just a few. Obviously all are incredible but I love the two floaty dresses (3rd & 4th row) they just photographed beautifully and glided down the runway.

Mary Katrantzou S/S12 & A/W12

As we all know, today marks the start of LFW. Whilst wishing (no... praying) I was able to be there, I am still buzzing from the brilliant opportunity I gained on the eve of the biggest event in the fashion calendar! Sponsors of LFW, Vodaphone invited over 1000 customers into the official BFC show-space to an exclusive private view of Mary Katrantzou's amazing creations. The catwalk show was spilt in two with backstage hair/makeup and a video message from the lovely Mary herself which separated her S/S 12 and A/W 12 collections.

I managed to come by the chance of photographing the show from the official photographers pit. Apart from being in the audience at London Fashion Weekend I have never documented a catwalk. So, this was evidently going to be a little daunting for my first experiment with runway photography. And it was, but as soon as I was looking down the lens at all the beautiful pieces from such an iconic designer and one of my favourites, I was completely in the moment! And believe me... It was incredible - I enjoyed every second, every step taken and every click of the shutter.

I haven't had a chance to edit down the hundreds of pictures I managed to capture so here is a couple of shots of the army of models as a preview:

London Fashion Weekend

So, my Dad very kindly paid for me and my Mum to go to London Fashion Weekend together. It was a lovely day out, really enjoyed spending some quality time with my Mummy, having a few bevies before and a lovely meal after.

She stayed in my university halls for two nights bless her, found it difficult to use my hob which turns off automatically after so long (some safety feature), especially after one of the two bottles of wine she brought with her!

That is her drinking the remainders of a bowl of chips... maybe that is wear I get my love of vinegar from?!? The first picture was of us just before we set off for the day. There was this really quirky 1940s styled duo/band next to a vintage replica hat stand, I really wanted the hat my mum photographed me wearing but it was a little out of my price range.

These following images were taken at the catwalk, Me and my mum were on the second row, and had a really amazing view until four huge men decided to turn up and sit in front of us, however I managed to find a space in between them to capture the catwalk. I took so many photographs of the catwalk, but here are just a selection.
